Le lilas Pocahontas se caract\u00e9rise par des panicules de fleurs violettes parfum\u00e9es qui s’\u00e9l\u00e8vent au-dessus du feuillage au d\u00e9but du printemps, et qui \u00e9mergent de bourgeons floraux bordeaux caract\u00e9ristiques. Les fleurs sont excellentes \u00e0 couper. Son feuillage est vert bleut\u00e9 pendant toute la saison. Les feuilles en forme de c\u0153ur prennent une couleur pourpre fonc\u00e9 exceptionnelle \u00e0 l’automne. Le fruit n’a pas d’importance ornementale.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Attributes de paysagement<\/div>\n

Le lilas de Pocahontas est un arbuste \u00e0 feuilles caduques \u00e0 plusieurs tiges, au port dress\u00e9 et \u00e9tal\u00e9. Sa texture relativement grossi\u00e8re peut \u00eatre utilis\u00e9e pour la distinguer d’autres plantes paysag\u00e8res au feuillage plus fin.<\/p>\n

Cet arbuste n\u00e9cessite un entretien occasionnel et ne doit \u00eatre taill\u00e9 qu’apr\u00e8s la floraison afin de ne pas supprimer les fleurs de la saison en cours. C’est un bon choix pour attirer les papillons dans votre jardin, mais il n’est pas particuli\u00e8rement attrayant pour les chevreuils qui ont tendance \u00e0 le laisser tranquille au profit de g\u00e2teries plus savoureuses. Sans aucune charateristique negative significante.<\/p>\n

Plantation et Croissance<\/div>\n

Le lilas Pocahontas atteindra une hauteur d’environ 12 pieds \u00e0 maturit\u00e9, avec un \u00e9talement de 9 pieds. Il a tendance \u00e0 \u00eatre un peu pataud, avec un d\u00e9gagement typique de 3 pieds du sol, et convient \u00e0 la plantation sous les lignes \u00e9lectriques. Il pousse \u00e0 un rythme moyen et, dans des conditions id\u00e9ales, il peut vivre environ 30 ans.<\/p>\n

Cet arbuste ne doit \u00eatre cultiv\u00e9 qu’en plein soleil. Il s’adapte tr\u00e8s bien aux endroits secs et humides, et devrait s’accommoder tr\u00e8s bien des conditions moyennes d’un am\u00e9nagement paysager. Elle ne s’int\u00e9resse pas au type de sol ou au pH. Elle est tr\u00e8s tol\u00e9rante \u00e0 la pollution urbaine et prosp\u00e8re m\u00eame dans les centres-villes.
